Hebei Provincial Museum

Hebei Provincial Museum's crown jewels are the artifacts from the Mancheng tombs of Prince Liu Sheng and his wife Dou Wan (discovered 1968). These intact Western Han royal burials yielded the famous jade burial suit sewn with gold wire, the Changxin Palace Lamp, the Boshan incense burner, and over 2,800 other objects. The museum also holds major Warring States lacquerware, Northern Dynasties Buddhist sculpture, and Ding ware ceramics from Hebei's own kiln tradition.
